Dear TESOL Colleague,

Professor Anne Burns, Dr. Sue Garton and Dr. Fiona Copland (Aston University, UK) are leading a British Council-funded project called, 'Investigating 'Global Practices in Teaching English to Young Learners'. A key part of the project is gathering information from as many teachers as possible who teach English to young learners, via a questionnaire. The questionnaire asks what teachers do in their English classes, the challenges they face and the solutions they have developed.

We wondered if you could help us in two ways with this: first, if you are a teacher of English to young learners yourself, could you complete the questionnaire at:

Second, we would be very grateful if you could copy this email to any teachers of English to young learners you know so that they too can complete the survey.

You might be interested to know that we have nearly 4,000 responses already to the survey from teachers in over 100 countries. We hope to reach 5,000 responses by September 2010 so that we can provide comprehensive and up-to-date information about this important, and often over-looked, area of English language teaching.
