When I was a child my dear Granny told me a lot of stories like those. Every time she had a new one, and even now I remember some of them.

As for me I didn't know about these poems (I mean English ones) until my 30-s. It's very interesting that there are some parallels with Russian songs for little children. But all children like them, no matter which country and wich language, unfortunately modern grannies lack this ability.
