Let's talk about our favourite movies. What category of movies do you prefer? Maybe, it's horror films, thrillers, comedies or romantic films? Or, maybe, it depends of your mood?))

Oh, I prefer comedies and romantic films. The last film i watched is "Fifth Avenue, 5 A. M." It's the best film i've ever seen.  Audrey Hepburn is gorgeous!

As for me my preferences in movies are depend on my mood) Most of all I like romantic comedies. Recently I have seen Spanish movie named Three metros above the sky. I was very impressioned by this film. It combines in it the first and true love, that is so hard to find in our world nowadays.

By the way, your English is quite well. Did you see the theme on this forum about making mistakes?) We're all making mistakes, but soon I hope we raise our language level by practice in it))

I like all categories. My favourute films are "Only hope"(this is a film about love story) and "Karate pacan"( Sorry I don't know how to say it in english.)

Hello Liana777, my favourite movie is Harry Potter and The orden of the phoenix. Most of all i like fantasy films. Also i like comedy or funny films.

Well, as for me, I watch movies about school from time to time. It was a reveal for me to watcn Entre les murs. But without doubt Russian school films are the best.

I can't say I know a lot about movies, but I have a few favourites I've already learnt by heart :) Among them are some Soviet comedies, "Twister" (1996), "Jurassic Park" (all the parts) and several others.

Forrest Gump - it is a great movie - really cool stuff.
This one from them, which I can watch more one time. Maybe yet Escape from Shawshank, Green mile, Indiana Jones and series like Romancing The Stone with Douglas, Turner and De Vito. Though, it is hard for me to remember all from those film which I like here. Too much of them.

I like a lot of films. But now I prefer watching films in English. I hope that it will help me in my studies . The BBC films are great: Midsomer Murders, for example. I adore the main chararter- Barnaby. These films are so English.

Most of all I like phantasy and phantastic films. My favourite film is "The Lord of the Rings". I read the book in several days and I think this movie is one of the best screen versions ever made.

I watch movie on english with this purpose too. What sourses you used?

That's not bad one, but only one time.

I remember yet one of the best. Bourne series with Matt Daemon. I saw it seversl times.

This summer I watched the last film of trilogy about Batman: "The Dark Knight Rises" by Cristopher Nolan.

I am not a fan of Batman. I watched old films on TV with Michael Keaton ("Batman", "Batman Returns"), Val Kilmer ("Batman Forever") and George Clooney ("Batman and Robin"). Previous two Nolan's films ("Batman Begins", "The Dark Knight") I also watched on TV,  but "The Dark Knight Rises" really impressed me.

Generally, Nolan's trilogy very distinguishes from ealier films: it is much closer to real life, there is almost no clear difference between goodnes and evil.

If you like Harry Potter movies, I advise you to read books about Harry Potter in english. They are very interesting and easy for read. As for me now I've started to read the sixth book - Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

And also I like to watch films... I have a lot of favourite films, but among the recently watched films I advise all of you the movie "1+1". It based on a real story.

i guess a more 'family-friendly' one wud be Doctor Who or something. Its a tv show but its brilliant and very cleverly done.

Hi, all. recently i see less and less interesting films, but one indeed impressed me. I think that film is called "repentance", but i don't know exactly as it is called in English. it's Georgian film produced in 1984. i suppose this film worth for watching.

Wrong Turn is a classical scary movie featuring inbred hillbilly cannibals. It scared me half to death until I saw 30 Days of Night that killed me finally. Btw, the sequels of Wrong Turn turned out to be mere trash.

Well, yeah, quite true! Though surprise endings might be meant to grab the attention of the audience I still expect that the goodies get out of the trouble safely. You know, for that anxiety that such movies give me I kind of hope for some relief. But since it’s quite boring when everything goes the same way some twist can be quite good.

BTW, what is it you like and what is it you don’t in scary movies? I like it when it keeps me anxious but I DO NOT like when it’s a slasher movie with too much gore like Texas Jigsaw Massacre. But (though it might seem a little too shallow) I honestly like watching vampire movies and that kind of movies with young people travelling though a remote country and stuff like that. They make my day when I’m bored (weird, ain't it?).  :bk:

Well... I don't like vampire movies AT ALL. Never watch them. Never ever touch the vampire  books, either. Just not my thing.I prefer action-mystery movies or something like "The Mentalist", "Person of Interest", "Transporter".
Sometimes I crave for psychological movies, like 'Shutter Island' or 'A Beautiful Mind'
So I would say it depends. I don't mind to watch a good comedy or a romance movie, too.

Yeah, I see. Well, to sum up my preferences I think I’m more into attention-grabbing and breath-taking movies watching which you never get bored. I’m not a big movie watcher though. I almost never remember the names of the cast and stuff. To be honest I mostly watch movies to kill time or get some fun.  :bp:  So what’s your reason to watch movies?
Btw, what’s that you don’t like about vampire movies the most (you don't have to cite Twilight which is beyond worthless by any means :bm:)?

I have already mentioned that vampires are kinda 'not my friends', or in other words we are not in the same league. :))
It's just not my type of books or movies.
I don't like 'bloody' stuff.
As I said, I like mysteries. Right now I am reading Michael Connelly book. I like his novels.  He is a famouse author of detective novels and other crime fiction. "The  Lincoln Lawyer" movie based on his novel. Did you see it? I like the book better, though. Now I am reading his "The Drop".

I don't kill time. I just don't have enough of it, frankly speaking.
But I do go to the movie theater from time to time, if the preview is catchy and I feel like it. Not very often, though.
And this Twilight ... it's for teens. I am not a teen any more. :))

My favourite is Chronicles of Narnia, it's perfect if you like fantasy movies with beautiful grafics.

I love the film "Wild'. The film is based on the book 'Wild'. Has anyone read it?
